    Tying jigs

I’ve been using copper wire to tie the jigs i recently started making. I wanted to give the thread a shot. What size works best? Are their any advantages using thread over wire? I would think the thread would hold skirts down a little tighter. Thanks for any help!

I use upholstry thread from Hobby Lobby. Works great and can tie it really tight

    Re: Tying jigs (livetofish)

I use 30lb spectra and have zero problems with it I also use it for deerhair /bucktail it pulls tight has no stretch makes skirts flare really good and a big spool will last forever I just used 450 yards off of my 3000 yd spool a few days back and I tie jigs 4-5 days a week this also wont rot or deteriorate like upholstery thread or dental floss. I tried wire but it takes too long, I do 50+jigs a night on average so speed is of the essence
