Building my first rod

I want to build a split grip casting rod. I've looked a the rod building kits, but they dont have one I have liked. What am I going to "need" to build this rod? I know that I'll need a blank, reel seat, guides, epoxy and wrap. will I need anything special for the split grip and some of the little things Im forgetting or dont know about? Thanks for any info.
