There's no set air pressure for all painting applications. Alot of variables, type of paint, how much it's thinned, fine dtail or full coverage, etc... I spray from as low as 5psi to as high as 45psi depending on the media I'm working with and what I want it to do.

I paint most of my baits around 24 psi, but with thicker paints you will have to go up on the psi and with finer detail or splatter you go down on the psi. Like BassinBlazer said, there is no set pressure all of the time.
thanks for the help im gonna go get a start on some baits and see what happens

When spraying opaques 40lbs, pearls 30-35lbs, transparents 25lbs are my general settings...
I only shoot opaques when covering the bait for basecolor......everything else is pearl or transparents.
On the scales go about 30 lbs. That will insure that you don't get the paint to heavy and it won't be enough pressure to push the paint underneath your mesh material. Make sure to spray straight down when spraying your scales as well.......if you spray it at an angle......it may push the paint under the scale mesh as well
A lot of good advice has been given. I personally spray between 18-30 psi.

It depends on what pressure you're comfortable using. I just leave my compressor on as high as it will go (it maintains 40 PSI while spraying, and reaches 60 PSI max). Other guys spray at lower PSI, but that's because it's what they feel most comfortable using. There is no right or wrong way; it's what works best for the painter.
