I bought a bunch of knock offs, painted and finished a dozen and found that they look great, but they dont sit in the water the same. So I tore apart an original to see the weight system. It appears that the knock offs have similar weights, but are in the wrong places.

The original has a large lead ball in the tail section and nothing in the head.
The knock off has nothing in the tail and a large lead ball in the head.

So I drilled a hole just big enough to get a copper BB through into the small rear section on the bottom of the bait. I put 5 bb's in the cavity and thats all it will take. Epoxied the hole up and they cast alot better, and sit in the water like they should tail down some.
