I have been tossing around the idea of pouring and making my own jigs. I have never done this before and don't have any of the equipment to do it. Where is the best place to find the pots and molds and where do you get your lead from? I have heard of guys using old tire weights but have also read that you may not get good pours from them. I see you can buy bulk lead on ebay but there is a variety of options. Do you like pure soft lead or do you prefer the 50/50 tin and lead mix? I will be making these for myself and have no intentions of selling them. I would be willing to do some for my friends but other than that it will just be another hobby to pass the time in the winter. Any help would be greatly appreciated and if someone has some molds or melting pots that they don't use anymore and would be willing to sell them please let me know.
