How much flex coat?

I just got done spinning my 1st (and only) rod. All that is left to do is coat the threads. I see you can buy the flexcoat in 2oz size. I would think this is too much?? Where can I find a place to get just enough for my one and lonly rod? thanks guys.

ps Thanks to Scott (Bassn81) for all your help!! You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him spin a great rod
