My friend and I decided to try and build a couple of rods! Both rods are Medium actions with fast tip - 6'6" IM6 Graphite
The picture of the wrapped guide is without any finish on it. I have not uploaded the finished pics yet. Just had there ready to go!
It was a lot of fun! Addictive fun!

One question, The labe that comes with the blank giving length, pwer etc...I put finish on that and accidentaly touched it when tacky. Could I use fine sandpaper and "buff" it down?

Use some heat like a cig lighter or burner to smooth out the finger print. Just be careful to apply just a bit since you are smothing it out over a label.
