Just got a shipment of my "sexy Shad" Strike King baits and must say I am disappiointed. After seeing Stacy's baits, I think Stacys looks 10X better!

I don't think the strike king baits they are sending out is close to the color KVD used, based on pics I saw of the bait he used vs. what is being sold on the shelves. Supposedly, they are making different versions of the color for different regions?

Those are very nice looking baits!

I think I id read somewhere that Strike King is going to be coming out with new colors that replicate shad in different regions.

Out of all the crnaks I have ever used, SK's colors tend to fade the most in the sun. So KVD may have been using a bait that was faded out, as compared to the NIP baits at stores.

It's amazing the differences you can get in colors, KVD could have purposely faded those baits.... does anybody remember Fritts used to lay his Poe's on the dashboard of his truck for weeks in a attempt to fade them out?

Very nice work Ky. I really like the pearl scales over the top that gives it a lot of pop.

The originals that KVD and Hite had at Grand were custom painted, the ones coming out from strike king are their copy of the originals. I just saw one on ebay in the package from strike king, they are pretty far off. They are way too blue, compared to the ones KVD and Hite have. Either way I bet they still sell a ton based on KVD's endorsement, but thats just how things work.

(update, I saw some series 5's and 6's that are like the ones KVD was really throwing, it was a series 2 or 3 that wasn't the same that I had seen)
