I have a rod that I really like the action but the reel seat stripped out and needs to be replaced. Can someone give me some info about the easiest way to get the rear cork and reel seant off without damaging the blank. Thanks in advance.

Try a dremel tool and cut length-wise along the seat/handle. Don't go toodeep. Getting the old epoxy off is gonna be a booger. The real issue you will have is installing a new assembly from the back end of the rod. Usually they are installed from the front (the seats are tapered).
I assumed that it could be replaced from the back.

It can. You will need to get a seat that is bigger than the bank and some spacers.
This sound like a real good time to update the rod with new guides and wrap. It get be really hard if not impossable to put a ECSM type reel seat on the blank from the rear. JMHO.![]()
Impossible is the key word....jboss is right on with that![]()

I just did the same thing to an old Browning Cranking Stick! I ended up taking the guides off and the foregrip and replacing all the old guides and finished it with no foregrip. Its about the only way I know of to do it. The rod looks great now. Were the forgrip was and I had to do the sanding I covered it up with a butt wrapp.
Its really not all that hard to do just make sure you mark were everything was on the rod so that when you put it back together nothing was changed. That old rod was my buddies favorite NOW it still is and he likes the new guides even better!!
If you nick that blank with a dremel you might as well throw it in the trash. Try heating up the handle and cork with a heat gun or blow dryer. Once you get it warm try twisting back and forth to break the epoxy grip.
IMHO the rod would not be worth what you are wanting to do. Sale that rod and have a custom rod built on that blank with your specs.
