what do i need to get started?

hey guys im looking into building my own rods... don't know really where to start, im an electricain so im a pretty good handy man and would like a second hobby, what all do i need without spending a boat-load of money! Really haven't found a rod that fits me best without spending over 200 but may find out that it will be just as much if i build them myself? Thanks a lot to all who reply!

Buy this DVD http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/r....aspx When I was thinking about getting into rod building I wasn't sure about what I needed to get started and weather or not this was going to be a difficult hobby and it's not really that hard once you understand the basics. The DVD shows you the basic tools and equipment you will need to get started and some you might want as you advance to the next level, it can be a very addicting hobby. Hope this helps

try http://www.mudhole.com they have instructions in their catalog on how to build a rod and also have the supplies, i would also take a look at a cabelas catalog. The website that redneck is talking about is a geat plac eto go and ask a lot of questions, there are a lot of knowledgable people on that site. There is also another site rodguild.com that is a very good site also.
