New to Braided Line

I have set up my spinnig /Dropshot rig with Braided line to a swivel with flurocarbon line, as have I done the same with my carolina rig. I Typically fish in very clear water, Chatuge lake and Glenville, sometimes Fontana. Are there other setups braided line would be recomended? Thanks for all input.

I like Braided line for tubes on spinning I usually tie the FC to the braid I never use a swivel to complete the two but alot of people do and it works and stops line twist on the drop shot. I just fine braid get fro spinning reels because it really helps you with hook sets and feel on a spinning rod. I also use braid on my flipping set-ups and sometimes my T-rigs but I use mostly FC for all of that. If your lakes have any grass you couls use some on a trap rod to rip them through. I always tie a FC leader in clear water if you do so Im sure you shouldn't have any problems.

I just set up a new jig rod and put braid on that. 30# braid to a 12# floro leader. Happy with it so far. Gota love the sensitivity.

learn the improved Albright knot and leave the swivel at home. The knot goes thru the eyelets very easy. If you are using a bait that gets alot of twists...a swivel is good.

These are my setups this year I changed to and love the result:

Braid:
1) Texas Rigs
2) Carolina Rig main line
3) Wacky Rigs...senkos and trick worms
4) Jigs
5) Flutter Spoon
6) Shakey Heads and drop shots (leaders manditory)

Flouro coated Copolymer:
1) crankbaits
2) Spinnerbaits
3) jigging spoons
4) jerkbaits
5) all topwaters

On the braid, if the water is clear or lightly stained, I will go to a flouro coated leader. I rarely use pure flourocarbon, but have some Seagar I use on jerkbaits. I am far from an expert, but this works for me and the braid about lasts forever and I have saved alot this year on line not having to change as much.

Hate to get a backlash with that flutter spoon. I've had a spook come back at me a few times on the briad...Makes your reflexes quicken up a bit..

I have tried copoly and mono on the flutter spoon. I get better action with the braid but the backlash can be a booger.

Its funny with the braid backlash, too...They seem to happen for no rhyme or reason...I noticed that if I'm fishing in the rain and run from spot to spot...my first cast, they want to backlash...weird deal...I try to be aware of it now and baby that first cast on a new spot...

I ain't trying to push a product, but Mike Delvisco got me to try the Sufix 832 and I like it alot better than the others I have tried. I do not backlash with it near as much and it is alot smoother and digs in less.
