"Your answer will be my main beef with the E-Tec line. They have the worst programmers on earth. I thought Ford had the worst, BRP has surpassed Ford in their ineptness. I have heard too many programming horror stories. I would have thought that programming a 25hp motor would not be difficult. I have written hex code programs for twin turbo drag trucks, and I assure you, I am not that smart.
And my next beef, why do they not have qualified technicians to diagnose and REPAIR the problem? Now you understand why E-Tec sales here are near zero. The only E-Tec dealers here can sell is the 25, no one will touch anything bigger.
I am currently working on a 40hp E-Tec, TOTAL JUNK. On a 1650 flatbottom .100 gauge boat, the motor pushes it 30 mph with 1 person. This guy is getting stomped by 25's with 2 and 3 people on board. I have checked everything I can physically check, the boat is fine, the prop is fine, the motor lacks horsepower.
The only E-Tec I am impressed with is the 25. The motor I tested was banging the 6300 rpm limiter with a 13 pitch PowerTech prop."
Reading other posts this guy is an E-tec basher except for the one and only 25hp e-tec he drove. He isn't even qualified to work on an E-tec and knows nothing about them other than they are a Canadian company...hypocrite French Louisianan.
