Just wondering what everyones favorite jig trailor is?? and the color??![]()
Ok....I'll go first (expect many more)...It depends on the jig, where and when I am fishing it. I have thousands of trailers in different styles and colors. There are times I want a small finesse or quick falling trailer, and other times I want a big chunky, fat slow falling trailer. My trailer choice is always tailored to the fall rate I desire, and the profile I am looking to emulate. As far as color goes...black is tried and true, but if I had to pick just ONE color: I would have to go with green pumpkin and doctor it up with Spike-It plastic dye to get some contrast on the pincers or tails.
And as far as a particular trailer: if I had to choose just one.. Zoom Super Chunk
Enjoy the MANY responses you will get....
like most i use a bunch of diffrent ones...when its cold in the winter i like a Yamamoto twin tail grub since its soft it seems to have a little more movement to it.
in the spring and summer i use something along the lines of a Chigger craw or Zoom ultravibe speed craw to get the flappers going and puts a little bigger profile out there and displaces more water.
as far as colors go...i use quite a few as well...PB&J is a pretty popular color here as well as Brown and Black/Blue...i just normally let the fish tell me what they want...i normally start with colors depending on water clarity...if its muddy water ill use a darker jig to get more contrast with the water clarity...if its more on the clear side i like natural colors like brown, watermellon and pumpkin
NETBAIT Paca Craws and Paca Chunks, love them both I use the Paca Craws as a trailer when I want a bulkier frame and the chunks when i want to be more subtle. The claws on the pacas sent some great vibrations.
Bring on the Black and Blue
Cold Water-craws, warm water- twin tail grubs, Hot water- Paca Chunks or twin tail grubs.
For Smallies ZOOM "SKINNY CHUNK" !!!!!
GOT ANY?
JAZII
Denny Brauer 3x Chunk Jr is still tops in my book. I also use Zoom Critter Craws in both the small size for finesse jigs or the larger ones for bulk.
I don't use the fancy action trailers much at all any more. If I want to swim a jig, it's the Yammy 4" twin tail.
I used gp, browns, and blacks in all of the above. To imitate blue gill, its tough to beat a sweet beaver in black neon with chartreuse tips.
I like zoom super chunk or the big salty chunk in black or green pumpkin. I do use different colours I try and match the skirt colour but will play around with different colours.
Berkley crazy legs chigger craw, paca craw, paca chunk, or uncle josh. Depends on color, time of year, water temp, depth etc.

Just about anything you can think of....![]()
I see new baits or old baits and think, "man, I bet that would work for a nice trailer..."
LFT Flipper
LFT Hyper Freak and Baby Hyper Freak
Jackall Satsuteki Craw
NetBait Paca Craw
NetBait Paca Chunk
Excite Raptor Chunk
All in some shade of black and blue or Okeechobee Craw. Also like Bama Bug a lot.
Zoom Super Chunk & Super Chunk Jr in green pumpkin/blue flake or black/blue flake.
Paca chunk in Okeechobee craw
Zoom super chunk and super chunk jr. Also use the pro chunk quite a bit. Green pumpkin, rootbeer green, black and saphire blue are the colors I use most frequently. I used to really like pork and still think the fish hold on to the pork chunks longer, but I have about quit using pork.
