I want to go out to the Butler Chain of lakes near Orlando, FL. I have never really been out there fishing and was wondering if anyone would know what area/lake to go to and/or what to use. I'm looking to go out there in the next couple of days.

Afternoon Daniel, and welcome to the BBC. To get answers to your questions about the Butler Chain I recommend you go to the Florida Forum and ask. Those guys can give you more info than you're probably looking for on Florida waters.
I fish there a few times a year, usually spring and summer.
From what I hear, winter is the best time to be there. Deep holes, and the bass are where the balls of shad are.
It is quite a big place, and fishing can be a lot different from lake to lake.

He usually has Butler Chain reports, and he also has a page link on the site that tells a lot of info. about the chain.
It is warming up some starting tomorrow, the weekend might have some active shallow fish as well. The water is pretty clear most places, but a couple lakes have some stain. Just depends what you like to do.
