do you need a pic or explaination???....really really simple.
Where are the BIG ones? When are we going?

Big guy, hadn't fished a senko at all before. I'm curious about hook placement in the o-ring so the worm will slide up the line out of the way when ( in my case if ) fighting a fish. I'm thinking you most likely run the hook through the ring to about the halfway mark on the hook shank..right?

Even if you did, the bait will still slide down to the bend in the hook when casting and retrieving. And yes, 90% of the time, the bait will ride up the hook when fighting a fish. Just get yourself some 1/4" o-rings (for a 5" Senko), an o-ring "tool" (or a large ballpoint pen casing works as well), and some wide-gap hooks (I prefer the Owner Rig'n hooks, 1/0 size).
For a weightless presentation, run the o-ring to about the midpoint of the bait, insert the hook between the o-ring and the plastic, and you're good to go. Oh, wait, but then there's the Izz Rig...![]()

Thanks. That's what I had in mind but thought there may be a trick I wasn't aware of. Got the o ring tool and the o rings so I'm good to go.![]()
I like to fish a 1/0 octopus hook rather than the wide gaps on the senkos but other than that its the same.

If you need a better close up, I'll go outside and take a pic of one I have rigged up.![]()
Love me some Powell\'s!!!
\"Set the hook!!!\"
as far as hooks I do like the gama dropshot hooks or the owner mosquito hooks. I have found hook up ratio better with these than when I use to use octopus but overall both will work for ya. Also depending on fish size consider size 2 to size 2/0.
If you have the patience for this technique it is deadly often times.

Thanks Skeet and Bigguy..I will be using the senko and dropshot this year...I guess I'm the last to try it LOL.
I better wacky rig that I developed for my Sink-N-Fool baits is to use a 1/4" long piece of 3/8" or 1/2" surgical tubing. I call it the Wacky Fool rig. Just wet your bait in your mouth and slide the tubing up to the middle of the bait like this.
I use the Owner weed less wacky rig hook in a 1/0 (best wacky hook on the market for my book) then I hook just the edge of the bait and the tubing. Rigged like this,
the baits stay on forever and you never miss a fish like the O ring wacky rig
that has the hook crosswise in the fishes mouth instead of straight up like my rig.
This rig also works for those other less effective sinking baitsas well as my Sink-N-Fool baits

Great pics! Nice looking rig and hook up should be real good with that. Heard of some local guy who uses two 4" senkos in an " X "...the sinking action is said to be a killer fluttering on the drop. When's the time for senko fishing, anytime you would normally worm fish?![]()
his help?? lots of "wackey rigs" on you tube
