This may be a dumb question, but I'm asking anyway. LOL I have been wanting to try the braid with fluro leader combo. My question is when you tie the fluro directly to the braid, can you reel the knot up past the line guides on the rod, and cast it out again, or do you have to stop short of the knot as if you had a swivel between the two lines.

For jerkbaits I use a leader long enough that I reel it into the eyes. I have had it give way before and I don't know if it was a bad knot or it hitting against the eye caused it to break.
I normally use about 4' of floro for a leader and of course wind it through the guides...no probs so far.
In saltwater I may use a 10 yard topshot (leader) and always wind through the guides and onto the reel with no problems...In fresh I go down to a 5 foot leader and at the start of the day it usually winds through the guides but by the end of the day its a lot shorter due to retying.
