    rusty-kinda long

from previous post the other day-i didn't check the l/u fluid yet, i'm gonna drain the fluid tomorrow to see what that is looking like. i wanted to flush it and see if the r's would pick up while in neutral. i pulled the ind/plug out and screwed in hose per manual. turned on water, and i've got water coming out of everywhere........from the seam line of the cav plate all the way down to the prop. only place water water wasn't coming from was from the actual water pickups. this bothers me a touch as i don't ever recall water coming from these areas before and i would think the water would follow the path as going in. anyways like a horses ass, i fired it up, took a few cranks but fired and sounded fine, i rev'd it a touch and then it stalled. i left it shut it down after a min or two and fired it again, not so much as a a hesitation, hit the throttle a touch again while in neutral and was quite responsive, jumping right up over 3k but i let off, i didn't want to "floor" it as my little boy was outside with me plus the possibility of some real damage in there. i noticed the prop was liking to turn on its own, would the exhaust this or is this yet another prob? also, she did start to smoke a bit, coming from cav plate just in front next to the speedo tube, and from the front lower cowl where the the mid-section ties in. is this the norm? when i saw that i shut her right down and tried to look for where it actually coming from but cleared up the second i shut it down.

rusty, sorry for being a pain in the arse with all the questions, just ignorant about this kind of stuff, and i do appreciate any assistance you can give me

    Re: rusty-kinda long (moto)

I would not suggest you run the motor on the flushing adapter, this is the one that screws into the overboard discharge (pee tube)....only run the motor on a flusher that covers the water intakes.

Water will come out of everywhere and it should, this is normal and the smoke is also normal.

    Did this answer your questions?

    Re: rusty-kinda long (RUSTY63)

rusty, i checked the l/u fluid per your advise, and no metal shavings, no water and smelled fine too. it just looks a few shades darker than when it was new. i know i am probably fishing on this, but i'm gonna throw it out there. when i pulled the breather off to expose the intakes, the three bowls on the drivers side had oil seeping out, while the other side had only one bowl-bottom- like that. is it at all possible for two of the cylinders aren't getting the oil it needs creating my problem, not allowing me get the rpm's.
