i read about this technique in the flw mag and gave it a shot w/ no luck. i did the same thing that the pros did( at least i thought i did) and used the same set ups. the main problem i had was the lure would dive, even if reeled really slow, i just couldnt get the lure to make a v wake on the surface. the water i was fishing was smooth, no ripples or waves.

what am i doing wrong? is there some modification i need to do to the lure, besides removing the split ring?
