    shoes

We talk a lot on these forums about tackle, boats, techniques, weather, lakes, and so on. I am very curious about what you all wear on your feet during long days on the water. I'm a big guy, and foot comfort is very important to me. I'm trying to get a read on this by watching the pros, and they wear everything from sneakers to flip-flops. Let's see what the replies look like...

Just a guy tryin\' to get to the next level...at everything I try.

I usually wear a good pair of sandles... light, airy, comfy. You do need to put suntan lotion on your feet though.

    Re: shoes (Luke)

A good pair of tennis shoes for me as I will not wear Nike on my boat anymore because they are knot a non marking sole. They really make a mess of my carpet and when i would get home from a day on the water it would look like a heard of asphalt pavers had danced a jig on my front deck

    Sunscreen!

I prefer to be barefoot on the water. Just because I can trim the engine up-down and toggle through the buttons on the fishfinder................all with my toes!
    -
It's nice not having to bend over all day to trim the engine if I sneak into shallow coves, or if I want to change settings/views on the fishfinder. Yah.........it's kinda weird.

    And...........Yup,..............just like a monkey.

Sperry Topsiders, Tivos, or tennis shoes, depending on my mood at the time and outside conditions.

Favorite when it warms up is the Crocs Flip Flop, amazingly light and comfortable on your feet. also have a pair of Merrell sandals that are great on my feet.

    Re: shoes (DinkyDonker)

I wore flip flops until I was pulling up my trolling motor and the rope broke....as I was falling back my flip flop fell off and I stepped on a crankbait and a sure set hook went into my foot. I broke my St. Croix glass rod and on top of that while trying to get the hook out, it broke off in my foot. To make a long story short I had to have surgery to get the barb out. I went into surgery and put under complete anesthetic to get the barb out. I wear tennis shoes now!!!!!!!
