Did you tie a knot on the end?

The problem I had with the dropshot weights was they would cut the line into!!!changed over to the swivel bell sinkers---problem solved!!besides they are much cheaper so it doesnt hurt to lose a few a day![]()
I switched over to the Bullshots, thet are a split style bullet weight and they work awsome for dropshotting, carolina rigs and texas riggs when you need to be pegged. check them out, if you can find them. some walmarts carry them

Two things,
When using a standard dropshot weight I take the line set it in the gap and pull up until it breaks. This sets the gap in weight and opens it up to the line size that you are using. If you were using 12lb and put the weight on 8lb the wieght will come off the line because the gap is opened for 12lb. When fishing grass etc I tie a knot on the weight so that it doesnt pull off but actually break off.
