    Bullet weights

What is everyone using for a good lead substitute for bullet weights? Would like to get away from the lead and I can't find anything that i like that doesn't cost a dollar a piece. Tungsten is too expensive. Ultra steel has them but I bought a whole bag of 1/2 oz size and the top of the weight is flat, not pointed. Using them for pitching and flipping so the weeds are snagging on the head.
Still using lead for now but have a T in New Hampshire this year and can't use lead up there.

ultra steel. I got a great deal on them at one of my wally worlds. They were marked .10 per package of 4. I bought 28 packs (all they had). All of them are 1/4 oz. I'd have bought them even if they werent steel. That was just a bonus. Plus they are the screw in type, unpainted.

I just bought some paint today at lunch and I'm going to play with that tonight for all my unpainted lead.

I agree with you completely. I'm not spending $1/weight. Not even for a c-rig weight. The steel stuff will have to do for me.

Mine dont have that flat tip you are talking about, that I can notice. I mean, it's not needle sharp, but it's also not flat, that I can see.
