    boiling flukes

Has anyone ever done this? if so how long do you boil them for? I heard someone talk about boiling flukes to give them more action.

I have heard that you boil water and dip the tail sections in to get them to straighten out......some of the Flukes and other soft jerkbaits have a tendency to curl while in the package.....especially if you've had them for a while and never used them...............Hope that helps

15-20 seconds of immersion in boiling water softens soft plastics enough to retrain the shape. Lay it out and bend back to normal, or deliberately bend a tail curl in.

I've boiled a few crankbaits, but never any plastics other than straightening them as mentioned.

I've done the old cigarette lighter on the bill. But, never heard of boiling baits. What's it do?

Does a couple of things, either completely ruins them(usually) or swells them up just a bit for a different wobble.

OK...I've learned my "something new" for the day....I'm done now...Thanks
I might give it a try with an old bait, or two. They definitely won't be Lucky Crafts!
