have read about and tried the bead to stop grass buildup on the eye/line before!
Id say thats what its for!!but mine were bright orange and really looked funny on green pumpkin frogs

The bead in the bag is to thread on the line above the hook. From what I've read and observed fishing it breaks the surface tension of the water making the frog run better. It seems to work! I'm going to get some black beads though.

The bead will allow the bait to come through the V in lilypads much more easily. And when it does hang up in there, pulling it through with brute force usually doesn't rip up the bait because the bead butts up against the eye of the hook and protects the bait.
