    Torque specs

    decarbing last night, noticed a bolt missing from one of the throttle bodies. Checked all of them and they weren't very tight. Does anyone know the torque specs on these.

    If you are talking about the 4 long 1/4-20 bolts with the 3/8" hex head that hold the plastic carb bodies to the throttle bodies, then the torque is 45-55 inch-pounds.

    The other two moderators posted their thoughts, hell, just pull the bolt up tight.

    Elgin learned from those "mechanics" who keep tightening a bolt until it starts to loosen, then backs it off 1/4 turn.

    No Sir, that would mean we would need one of them Heilo coils and we aint real good at them yet.

    So what do you do, tighten bolts until you hear them squeak, or tighten them to 1/2 turn before they strip?
