    Need Power Pack

    Carbureted Venom 225

    Mod J225STLEUD
    Ser G 04346345
    Year 1997

Shop said powerpack was bad and not firing #2 cylinder.

    Questions:

    1) How hard to replace myself
    2) Where can I find one to buy
    3) Any long term damage from running that motor while it wasn't working properly

    Re: Need Power Pack (JmanTX)

Factory replacement parts are best. But there was a guy on ebay selling new mallory power packs for 145.00 plus shipping.

How long would you run a marathon with a clogged artery??? Your motor your choice.

    Re: Need Power Pack (ChampioNman)

Uh - ran motor for only short while till I figured there was something more wrong than a dinged prop. Motor ran fine at idle but holeshot and top end was missing. Diagnosis turned up bad power pack. Now I'm just looking to learn more about getting it replaced.

Not planning on continuing to run it - maybe you read my post wrong.

The problem with replacing the pack on that engine is not pinching the wires when you reinstall it, there are a bunch of wires.
