I basically use two or three colors depending on the bait I want to imitate, and the water clarity.
For craw colors, I like Green Pumpkin/Chartreuse, or Watermelon Red Flake, and I also use Rootbeer with Green Flake
For baitfish colors I like Sand or Pearl White with some type of glitter
I use baits like the Yamamoto Kreature, Kinami Norie Bug, Jig/Paca Chunk combo, 10 series Grub (yamamoto) and Hula Grubs

I like flipping something that has a lot of motion, such as a 10 inch ribbontail worm. I rig them up with heavy weights and flip them into cover and either swim the worm out, or hop it out if its the old trusty jig.

I like the tiny and baby brush hawgs in black neon with a small hook and a 1/4oz. Florida weight.
One of my best flippin bait for the past season was the Ozmo. It is a little smaller than the full sized brush hog, but has more bulk. Smallies seemed to like it too. It is a heavily salted bait, and comes in an array of good colors. We stock them, and this is not a sales pitch, but you can see what they look like by looking at the site under the tackle key. Tell me what you think, this is a bait with endless possibilities.

Kicker Fish Bait Co - Kicker Kraw. This bait has awesome action and is available in different sizes. Bass hate em and go crazy when you pitch then in their territory. Lots of good colors. Clark Reehm last week had Big Bass in BASS Southern Toue on Lake Okeechobee on a Kicker Kraw. They have some awesome colors.

For the past few years I have been using a 4 inch hand poured flippin tube in black with gold flake. It's my confidence color!
If you get a chance try the new super Hog by zoom. It's just a little different from the baby brush hog. Watermelon and junebug colors. Also have had some good luck flipping a waveworm(senko) around brush and docks. Same colors.![]()
I'll use anybody's flipping tube in the four-inch model as long as it's camaflauge colored and has a rattle in it![]()
Baby Brush Hogs in watermelon, watermelon red flake, junebug, candybug, or green punkin. 1/8 to 5/8 tungstin wieght. 15 lb big game.

NOBODY mentioned the Sweet Beaver............................. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
I like the baby brush hog also. I don't fish many lakes with real heavy vegatation like the guys down South, although we occasionaly find it here in the Northern region, so I prefer a little smaller bait. Black/blue is the #1 color usually, but green pumpkin or watermellon would be my backup chioce. Watch them sneaky Southern boys, they may be using the new Double Wide Beaver this spring... hate that name, reminds me of that old trailer park honey I used to date.........![]()
baby brush hog in black with small red flakes, bleeding bait tubes in black neon, watermelon red and black/blue laminate paca craw, junebug speed craw
I've tried a couple of those Double Wide Beavers in my life too.![]()

I like the Zoom Super Hogg's............![]()
My favorite pitching jig is a 3/8 Daves T Tackle King Sling jig in black and blue with a zoom salty chunk. For tx rigs I like a green pumpkin tube, superhog in watermelon candy, gr pumpkin or black sapphire. YUM wooly hawgtail is a good flipping bait, Zoom Lizard is also a good choice.
