    Ethernet Connector

I have a 05 ETEC 250 and I just purchased and HDS8 Sonar and GPS and I would like to hook up the cages screen on it, does anyone know where the usb port on the engince would be? Would you hook it to where the service connection is? Has anybody done this?

Elgin, I was wondering if there is a port on the engine that allows a usb fitted ethernet cable to be attached. This would allow my Lowrance unit to give me RPM, Temp, Tach, Fuel use etc...

there is no USB type port on your motor.

The marine business uses a network standard called NMEA2000 which every engine manufacturer subscribes to with the exception of Mercury. NMEA2000 products are "plug and play" and most recent boat electronics are compatable.

    Re: Ethernet Connector (SEAHORSE)

Seahorse thanks for the information that's what I was looking for I guess I was asking the wrong thing. I have a network set up in my boat already so I think the only thing I am needing now is the EMM Harness and I should be able to attach to engine.
