Anybody else get punked out by the fish on Smith Mountain this weekend? We thought we had them figured out. Practiced 5 days in the past 2 weeks, had fish in different areas. Thought we could get 12 to 14lbs a day easy, WRONG! Congrats to those that caught em, my hats off to ya.
I saw that there were only 8 10 fish limits weighed for the two days out of 152 boats. Must have been tough!

Been there done that in the BFL there in March.

We have two tourneys up there this weekend and saturday before last we caught at least 25 bass and we quit counting at 11 keepers 14 or better.best 5 between probably 16 and 17 . fished this past saturday and fished new cuts to try them or eliminate them , well we eliminated a bunch of water and caught some short fish but nothing to amount to anything . Like Jerry says "When she's Hot She's Hot and when She's Not She's Not" now I have that tune in my head

The last season I fished in the Region, I qualified for the Classic which was to be held on SML. Spent a week there pre-fishing and couldnt get anything going. In fact, it was so bad, I didnt fish the Classic.
Beautiful lake and in some places, it reminds me of the lakes back home in Missouri...but I just cant figure it out!
