    2004 225ho rude won't start

Hey guys, I was caught in a bad storm the other night my motor just quit 2 times. after setting for 20 minutes it will start. When it dies it won't turn over. the system lights cycle and I have battery voltage. I t did it again after going through wakeboarders wakes today. This time I had a test light and the ingition switch appears to be working but i tested at the starter solenoid and have battery power there but no voltage at the S term when key is turned. is there a bulk head connector or fuse panel other than the circuit breakers on the boat? It is a Triton TR21. I need help after it and i cool down it starts and runs, seems to be a rough water deal????? Thanks CW

Look for a loose connection or broken wire at the key switch, this link should help you with the troubleshooting. http://continuouswave.com/whal....html

When I checked the Yellow wire in start position it had power at the switch just not at S terminal at solenoid

Do any of your gauges not work either when it does crank? The yellow and yellow and red are start and kill circuits. As Dan has said they can break (actually any of them ) right at the terminal and you'll never see it unless you inspect and verify each one on the back of the ignition switch and the Deutch (sp) plugs, there's one about a foot down line from the switch and a couple on the engine.

when it cranks everything works and all is well. I will put a switch in it anyway due to year ago the lanyard pulled off and motor kept running. I haven't really trusted it since then anyway. I will keep posted. Thanks CW

If I were you I would replace the connector on the yellow wire! I suspect a broken wire at the terminal. As Garfish stated they break at the terminals because of the wire bundle flexing when in rough water.

The newer switches are designed to crank the engine after the kill switch lanyard has been pulled, to allow the person not thrown out to retrieve the person in the water....

A bad or sticking neutral safety switch could cause a problem! You would not get a signal at the "S" terminal of the start solenoid when you turn the key.
