    Hertford Boat Ramp Info

My boat was damaged back in April by Bolts that protrude from the docks. Long story short, the town and there insurance co. denied my claim. The bolts were covered with fire hose within several days. Fished there on Sat(7-25-09) most of the bolts are again uncovered, becareful they will gauge your boat. The insurance co. said they would not cover because the town did not know about the hazard, they know NOW. Still venting, thanks for reading.

Dang...sorry to hear bolts exposed again. How did the firehose vanish in such a short time, I wonder...

Yes I was, and I am ashamed to tell what I (we) as a club did. If we had did well I always help, however in this case I'm LOST. Where you one of the others there that day.

No I wasn't there but PQ is one of my favorite rivers. Just noticed that "bass fisherman" made the Perquimans Weekly newspaper. Something about taking all the parking spots on Church Street. I guess the business owners were Pi**ed off. I say OK, get some parking opened up and this wouldn't happen. I would think that who ever parked there got a ticket because it is only 90 min parking. The article also stated that if you have an orgainzed tournament coming into town to contact the city manager who will work with you on making sure you have enough parking. I think what he does is open up the park down the street to parking. Did you fish up or down the river?

When I was a tournament director many years ago, I used to have the same issue with the City ramp and this was after I had communicated with them prior. As a remedy but not convenient, I would move the launch location to the wildlife ramp off New Hope Road.

Several years ago, we could park at Missing Mill and there was also a grass field that was overflow parking across from Missing Mill...

It looks like the city manager is willing to work with groups to make sure there are places to park, in fact Fishers of Men is lookng to hold a tournament there next year.
