results from the DOROTHY WILLIAMS benefit tournament

    Hey All,

Bill and I would like to than every one who contributed to the success of the tournament, from the sponsors who really stepped up with some nice raffle prizes, the cash contributers, the guys who paid the entry fee knowing they wouldn't be able to fish, the guys who donated some of their personal baits for the raffle. and the two teams that re-donated their winning back to the cause.

a special thanks to Melissa and Fred out at Tunis, they were kind enough to let us walk in there and "take over", They even had to deal with a pretty big "road block" behind the counter--

thanks to EVERYONE we are proud to be able to hand Mrs. Dorothy and Joyce the total of $1902.50---we hope this helps if only in a small way.

    Now, here are the details:

BIG FISH--- went to Benny Hendricks and Ronnie Ketchum with a real nice 3.65 bass.

FIRST PLACE--- went to Benny Hendricks and Ronnie Ketchum with a nice 5 bass limit totaling 8.93 lbs.

SECOND PLACE--- went to Mike Allen and Dennis Hughes with a nice 4 bass bag totaling 7.52 lbs.

THIRD PLACE--- went to Patrick McMath and Greg Vick with 3 bass bag totaling 5.95 lbs.

Many thanks to Mike and Dennis and Pat and Greg for graciously re-donating their winnings back to the cause.

I am very proud to be able to say I know each and evey one of you and that I am a member of the best community on the web.

Perry & Bill....Great job guys! I really wanted to stop by the weigh in....We (Stateline Bass Anglers) weighed in at 2pm and my plan was to come by afterwards but my truck was running like a one legged dog yesterday...The fishing on the Nottoway was no better....However, one of our teams managed a nice day....11lbs with a 5+ kicker....Anyway, would have loved to fish the benefit tourney and glad you guys/gals had a good time....

Re: results from the DOROTHY WILLIAMS benefit tournament (Blue Steel)

I'd like to thank everyone that helped to make this past two weeks such a success, capped off by a great day with freinds yesterday. It's amazing how everyone stepped up, from the cash donations, raffle prize gifts, and your valuable time helping out in in way needed.

As soon as Perry posted our desire to do this we started getting IM's from all over. As I remember, TRCM IM'd me right away to let me know he had items to donate and was going after more thru some of the businesses he frequents. Right after that I got an IM from MrsFirebassr lettting me know she wanted to volunteer in any capacity, and this was while she was busy trying to help Miss Dorothy thru her official duties as a nurse at the hospital tha. To add to all of the local help we started getting IM's from around the country from folks that wanted to help, and then more money and prizes started coming in. I thank you all from and want you to know that I'll always be there to back you up when necessary.

Finally I'd like to thank Perry, he was the real workhorse in this whole process, I was just there to help. You put on a real professional show there partner, thank you.

    Great job Perry and Bill!!!!!!!!!

It was an honor to participate in an event to support such a worthy cause, let alone get to do it with such a great group of people. The BBC gang is second to none anywhere in the land, anyone who was around yesterday witnessed that first hand.

I too would like to express my most sincere appreciation to all of the sponsors who provided support for this event through product and monetary donations! My hat is off to all of you!

I knew this would be a success when Perry and Bill asked me about it, but I must say, I'm amazed (but then again I shouldn't be) at how well it went off and how much we were able to raise for the cause.

    Great day everyone!!!

Re: results from the DOROTHY WILLIAMS benefit tournament (sprint_lover)

Posted this before but wanted to make sure you all knew what this meant to me!!

Just talked to Lea.....I'm so upset I couldn't be there for the weigh in....

Mainly just to see everyone and give you all great big hugs!!!! I've been reading Melissa and Fred's post since they started and been wanting to meet them too!

But....mom is home, came home yesterday...had the PT person and home health care nurse coming over this afternoon, plus not ready for mom to be left totally alone in house yet...she's still in her soft cast and using a walker...multiple docs appts this week coming up and we go from there...gonna be a challenging few weeks with work and all.....

So far the knee is doing ok..but it sure is ugly looking....doc says it looks good...

All in all after the procedures and surgeries she has 7 incisions of various shapes and sizes, 6 on her knee and 1 in her groin where the filter was inserted!!

She's a real trooper though! I turn 50 this August, our birthdays are a week apart, she turns 82....so I am going to come up with something really special for us to do together....

Since I first saw Bill and Perry's post about the TX, I've tried and tried to come up with words to thank you all for what you did, Bill and Perry you guys are amazing!

To everyone who contributed.....its just hard for me to put into words sometimes what my friends mean to me....so just know from the bottom of my heart...I love you all!!! Thank you .......

Sorry you weren't able to be there Rob, but a BIG congratulations to your son!

I would've really liked to have seen you run against the Bullet with the 300 on the back. That would've been a show stopper!

if you are laoded just right no seats, 1 battery, 6 gallons of gas, no tackle, and of course potty empty you should do it way back when that is how i would race the challenger and only after done fishing

Rob, I could "misappropriate" a sanitary pump off one of these boats here and install it in yours!

My San 2 tank is always dry...

Pete, my boat is for fishing. My storage compartments look like Bass Pro Shop annexes. Ive never understood the guys that take out their seats and batteries and trolling motor...it aint a bass boat no more.
