Occoneechee State Park Cabins

Got a cabin for 2 days at the park. Man was I impressed. I was thinking it was going to be a shack but boy was I surprised. Well worth the $96 a night stay. Had everything you needed, except a tv. But who needs a tv? The old lady wanted to watch American Idol so I bought one. Only got 3 channels. Couldn't get fox so she missed it. Only to find out Thursday night we did get fox.
We both enjoyed the cabin and are thinking about renting one for the week instead of our usual cottage rental at nags head.
It was alot of RR.
Wed night we went shopping at Clarksville (of course the only shop they had was Bobcats ) got back drank more than a few in red solo cups and cooked hot doggies on the grill. Got a late start Thursday am and didn't start fishing until 8ish. Ran all over the lake trying to catch something. Caught 3 bass.
Had to make another run and ended up drinking more than we should have. Cooked burgers on the grill and had some tater salad, corn, and tater chips that night. Got up bright and early this am and only got to fish 3 hours before check out. In them 3 hours I caught more than twice what I caught the day before fishing all day long. Caught 8. Thought about packing up everything and go back out but we headed home. I figured if we went back out fishing I wouldn't have caught another fish.
Now I am glad I couldn't get a reservation for a camp site. The old lady and me really enjoyed out stay at the cabin. If it was available for this evening and the weekend we would have stayed all weekend.

Cabins were booked, bayview was booked, and campsites were booked for the weekend. If I could have got one for the weekend I would have.

Stayed there in april for tournament. Slept 6 people, not tv but wilderness and fresh air. Went to Lake house for dinner very nice indeed.

Ouch! Book ahead for next year. We have a great time. I just wish we could have made it this year. Maybe we'll get to meet there. I still can't believe we live only a few miles apart and still have not hooked up...LOL

Mike, I have stayed there myself a couple of times, those cabins are great. Well worth the money

I stayed there earlier this year for the first time and I was very impressed. Its a beautiful place and the peace and quiet is awesome.
