    here you go about accident

have an 08 ZX225 and after my last day of practice on Kerr for a BWS regional I noticed my jack plate had two wicked cracks in it. One is on the part that is flat to the back of the boat about 2 inches form the right hand edge. The other is on the right side (looking from the rear) about 2 Inches from the back of the the boat, Its cracked all the way through and goes down about 4 inches (about 1 inch down from where the tie down hook is.
That night I found a guy who would MIG tack it for me but he said the back of the boat would get burned bad, so I took my chances and fished the tournament, Plus I decided it would be better not to tamper with it as not to void my warranty.
Has anyone seen anything like this? I check and maintain my boat meticulously. one day it was OK the next day it was there, and i did not hit ANYTHING.
Anyway she is on her way to the dealer ASAP, Maybe they could figure it out,
On an other note. Driving that boat those two days (even though I babied her) was probably the stupidest thing I could have done. Another boater with 2008 Triton with a 225 Merc blasted off, and within sight of the ramp, the motor mounts on the Merc busted and the boat went bezerk, his non-boater was ejected, and the motor was hanging on to the boat by the cables. Luckily no one was seiriously hurt, My point is that could easily have been me, I don't Know if he was aware of any problem or not, but I DID KNOW and i drove it anyway. Make sure you know what your getting into if you are going to operate your boat with something broke.
It really made me think, and a tournament is not worth your life.

    BE SAFE,
