Re: Smith Mtn Lake Info (Blue Steel)

The Hardy Road bridge over Jeter Creek has a about a 14 foot deep hole and a huge brushpile sunk directly under it (refreshed yearly). It is loaded with nice sized crappie.

The best method to catch them is to go at night and fish off the embankment for the bridge. There's a parking area just past the bridge on your right. Hang a coleman lantern suspended off the center bridge railings just about 2-3 feet above the water. (make sure and don't use rope that will melt!) Fish with small minnows about 6-10 feet deep on a bobber.

That's about all the help I can give ya! Hope you have great luck up there!

In october fish should be schooling and you can catch them most of the day by riding and looking for breaking fish . we have already started catching some of these , where are you leaving from? parkway ? as you know this depends on conditions and a lot can happen in two months . Im me before you come and I will tell you what we have found.... I dont know much but i will help you what I can , fish are like women , we think we know and then they change all of the rules , been fishing it around 25 years

Pete, if you go to Hawaii (Oahu), I used to run bass tournaments in Wahiawa. Throw lizards!
