Guys we have many wounded warriors in the region. I spoke to some friends at the USO who've put me in touch with Navy and Army personnel that have many men and women that are currently on medical hold due to injuries sustained in the war on terrorism. Some of these folks are mending and will be going back to combat. Not all are from here, but are stuck here. Here is your chance to say thanks to them for their sacrifice. Many have expressed a desire to go fishing. I'm working with some charter boat captains to line up some trips for them, but some like to freshwater fish as well. If any of you are willing to lend some support and take these guys/gals fishing please let me know. If you have fishing supplies your willing to donate that would be appreciated too. I personally have gear lying around my garage my wife is all too happy to see me get rid of. I will be the central contact point for now. In my absence I'll have someone else help out. Right now there are folks over at Norfolk Naval Station and I even have a huge amount over at Ft Eustis as well. This is strictly voluntary, but anything you do will be appreciated. I would even be willing to accept help from some of you club leaders....Mike, Bob, or anyone interested in assisting etc so on. This isn't about Bass Chasers, it's about helping take care of some of our wounded. My cell phone is 757-621-8689 and my email addresses are ts_ackal@yahoo.com / timothy.ackal@navy.mil

After thinking about it I have decided to give you all the Points of Contact and their phone numbers in the event you decide to take someone fishing. At Norfolk Naval Station (NMPS) you will contact HMC Bethea 322-6772. At Ft Eustis you will contact Mary Moyer 289-5913. This way you can call either one up and tell them you have room for one, two or however many you want to take. They will find you a willing body, trust me. Like I said they like to freshwater fish as well as saltwater fish. You can still call me to pick up donations and I will give you a receipt for whatever you donate. I will be turning over all donations to the wounded warriors or the USO Offices that are connected to the medical hold personnel. Your donations will be great appreciated. Thank you again.
