'mornin everyone. Sky in Deep Creek area keeps changing... one minute it looks like rain, the next minute it's bright and sunny. Decided to stay home today and wax the truck. Now that's done and I'm bored... so I guess I'll wax the boat now.

Filled up my boat tank the other day after running it down for a while - a little under $180 filled her up. ... and then I had to fill the truck up too...

    All the best,
    Glenn

    Re: Morning folks (TR-20XGlenn@Home)

Well, the humiliation was handed down. caught a few dinks and a keeper.

The real excitement was when I cast my $20 buck luckycraft up against a cypress tree. Something swirled on it, but I had no indication I did anything other than scare a fish, until I started to reel it in.

I tell you what, I have NEVER had take my hand off the reel handle to put a 2nd hand on a rod to keep it from going swimming with a freshwater fish, but I did today.

I had hooked a huge mudfish/bowfin. He almost pulled the rod out of my hands, and came up about halfway to the boat, then surfaced and rolled, and that was all she wrote....my $20 lure was gone, and so was a definite citation fish.

I've caught mudfish in the 25-30 lb range back home in florida, and I'll tell ya this, I'd bet a paycheck this one was every bit of 15 lbs, and very pissed off about his mouthful of hooks. The guy fishing with me bout crapped his drawers when he saw how big he was as he rolled just 5 ft away.

Anyway, moral to the story, don't throw a lure in mudfish infested waters you don't want to lose. This was the 2nd time I'd used that lure, and probably the 15th cast I had made with it total.

Mudfish love LuckCraft, and Ricos, and just about any lure worth over $10...
