Martinsville and Collinsville are going to be your best bet. There are Holiday Inns and Knights Inn and other hotel chains in those two areas. Its puts you approximately 12 miles from the lake.
Fairystone State Park has cabins w/air and fireplaces. Not sure how they heat, as I only go in the summer. Nice place to stay, I go there for a week every year. It's right beside the lake, the spillway from Fairystone Lake goes into Philpott. And if you get bored with Philpott, you can fish Fairystone lake too. It's a challenge.
Philpott is a wonderful clear lake to fish. I plan to go in the next few weeks myself, just to get in on the spring bite.

Thanks for the reply yall. I actually fish philpott a few times a year myself. I just have a tournament there coming up early next month, and wanted to go pre-fish a little bit, and decided that i can stay down there overnight cheaper than i could travel back and forth two days in a row with the price of gas and all.
