Avoid the wire frame shelves in the pantry, use wood. I had to replace the wire frame in my pantry with wood, just such a PITA to keep cans and other things upright on those darn wire racks.

X's 10000. Wood for all shelves.
There's lots of decaffeinated brands that are just as tasty as the real thing.

    Hi Mike.

I found some pre-cut rigid plastic shelf toppers for our wire shelves. Fit perfectly on the shelves and around the poles. No sag whatsoever, and my wife can fill a pantry. They’re a good alternative if you already have wire shelves in place.
    I believe they were RubberMaid.

Best thing we put in when we remodeled our kitchen was a two-tiered lazy susan where the base cabinets made a 90 degree turn.

Yep, for sure. We have wire in all our closets, but I put wood in the pantry. The wire shelves in the closet have the hanging rod. After building the house I was skeptical they would hold any weight, but after 22 years they are still standing. If you use wire you will have to put some kind of topper on it if you will be placing smaller items on them. That is an added cost unless you already have something to use.

I've been using laminated shelving board for pantries and closets. It won't scratch like paint or stain like wood. Been using the ones laminated top, bottom, and one edge that faces out.

No wireframe 'easy install' shelves. They also fall pretty 'easy' too!

Building custom shelves is easy. Just do your research and take your time and have fun with it.

I put these in last year for my wife. You lose a little bit of real estate on the sides but it allows you to use the entire depth regularly instead of shoving stuff to the back and forgetting about them. I would would put the shelves in with something like them in mind.
