Medicare is not good for these medications. My mom pays $1300/month for Wegovy. Hers is because she actually had a stroke and needs to lose weight. But Medicare refuses to cover it.

Wow, these "miracle weight loss" drugs make you lose weight in your wallet before losing physical weight.

Wow, $585 for a script on Medicare is really high. I’ve found that sometimes exploring gentle, low-impact exercises like Wall Pilates can help improve overall well-being and may even support better health, which might reduce reliance on medications over time. You can check out betterme world for simple Wall Pilates routines that feel manageable and supportive.

The issue is those kinds of drugs are not Medicare covered for weight loss. I have type II diabetes clients that are covered. It can still be a few hundred a month, but when you hit 2K in Medicare approved drugs then it’s covered the rest of the year at no cost.

Most think Medicare is the holy grail but they hardly cover eyes, ears, teeth and others. So plus you have a 20% cost share on everything with no cap. Thus all the supplement insurance or Medicare Advantage.

Should tax payers subsidize weigh loss drugs? Subsidizing insulin for type 1 diabetics, and subsidizing moonjaro for type 2 are not the same

$525 without a script or insurance at a place that compounds it. Same thing

Why subsidize weightloss and prevent diabetes, heart disease, and countless other ailments caused by being over weight when we can wait for the person to become really sick and then subsidize so much more healthcare.
