Jackplate Size for Z118C with 150 Mercury 4S

    I have a 2015 Z118C with a 2020 150 HP Mercury 4 Stroke. Boat has a 8" manual jackplate and thinking of going to a Hydraulic.
Could I go to a 6" without affecting performance? 2" would make storage a little easier but don't want to go smaller if it will have a
    negative effect. TIA

most hydraulic are 6" and you add spacers for more distance. if 6 doesn't work it would be easy to add the 2" spacer. 6 should be plenty on a lower hp hull imho--

I have same boat with 4 stroke 150 (not a pro XS ) and run a 6 inch Atlas plate. Took a while to get use to it but now like it

I have this same boat, wondering what the jackplate does for performance as mine does not have one. What top speed are you getting and what prop? Sorry if it's off topic.
