    BASSMASTER Elite - Sabine River… Day 2

Cut line right now is 14lbs. Guys are predicting that is going to drop tremendously due to everyone fishing in the same area and all those keeper fish are now gone

That cut weight is probably gonna fall like a rock because those fish are gone,” said Hunter Shryock, who is in 22nd place with 8-6. “This is a pretty big playing field, but with the conditions we have, it has shrunk tremendously. You’re looking at probably 80 or 90 percent of it’s unusable, not ideal conditions to fish whether that be too high water, too much current or just too muddy or too blown out. You’re getting a lot of people in very few areas, we’re splitting all the fish up, and we all know how that ends.”

I get this fishery is flooded from recent storms on a good day what's a normal cutline look like at the Sabine? I like watching the pro's go at it with this type of situation but man if this was my home fishery, and normal bags are 15 pounds, I'd move....

thr last time they were here the cut line was exactly 14 pounds. Conditions are much worse this time around

They keep saying conditions are worse but the weights and cutline is currently identical to what it was. It's not fishing any better or any worse. It's the same. I think these guys are just experiencing shock going from Fork to here, skewing their mindset even worse than before.

Probably should've gone Sabine to Fork for better attitudes from anglers and studio hosts.

Actually, very few of the bass weighed in these Sabine Elite tournaments come from the Sabine River. The guys normally catch them in Taylors Bayou, Neches River, and bayous near Houston. What Jason Christie did 2 years ago was an example of better-quality fish in the northern sections of the Sabine River. He went farther than most would care to go. Just 30-45 mins north of boat launch are lots of oxbow lakes and creeks off the Sabine with 2-5lb fish. The locals know about these areas.

I'm surprised he didn't tie a rope to some logs and un jam the log jam if thats the only place he had to fish.

Maybe that's against the rules tho, not real sure.

I thought it was.. I remember Lefevre pulling some logs years ago and then there was Poche moving rocks to gain access in the opens. Thought they made a rule where you can’t alter existing conditions to gain access

    could be wrong though

Hmm...But you can jump a log if you wish. I might have ran the nose of the boat up on them over and over to break em loose.

I guess it’s one of them grey areas…. It’s just floating logs that weren’t there yesterday so I would consider that NOT a pre existing condition..

if my magic bag was behind that log jam, I’d get my boat through them…. They’re just floaters that got tangled…. 2,500 pounds of vee bottom with 250 horses pushing will move them around….

maybe that’s what he gets for dumping the xpress…..

“my xpress is so great, I couldn’t have made this run and won without my xpress”. Oh, now I’m in a Skeeter, a month later..

I know they banned the chainsaw, but surely the rope was free and clear!

102 guys show up supposedly with “no info”, have three days of practice, and they’re all fishing the same area?

I mean they can watch the old tourneys and that’s where a majority of the fish have been caught
