The recent BCB trailer thread was very informative. Glad that the overall response was very positive on their steel trailer builds. They build a very high quality steel trailer along with the optional aluminum trailer. Other boat brands miss the mark on trailer quality. The aluminum option is a different animal compared to the steel trailer. They both are precisely built per hull type with similar characteristics. The aluminum trailer is a hybrid build between BCB and EZ Loader. EZ Loader is right next to the BCB factory making the manufacturing process very convenient. Mine is a 2021 with a Caracal sitting on the platform. To date 20k on the trailer still with the original 18” tires and has never left me on the roadside. After the two year warranty period I did a few trailer upgrades. This was strictly a personal decision to do this based on the water I fish. This post is in no way a criticism of the original trailer build from BCB.
2021 trailer
F-2 with modified plates and tie down
Side rail is a beefy I-tube with square tube cross members
Bunk supports welded with a back up stiffer
Structural aluminum welds and design holding with 20k to date.
Fender under structure very beefy
Trailer specs well above the 4200 lb weight of the combined trailer/boat
Other trailer mods solid aluminum license plate mounting plate
Foam stop helps with bow support
Foam guard on cross member insurance for hull plenty of clearance stock
Overall this is a high quality trailer and is a great option for a potential BCB purchase. The upgrade cost is a consideration but it’s not outrageous. I have kept up with the maintenance and had a few repairs which is expected. The roads are terrible everywhere in the country so trailer quality is very important. Three thousand miles this year and 0 issues and it trailers perfectly. Very happy my Caracal is on top of this trailer!
