My boat has been in storage. I took it and and it starts and runs fine.... but the tach is reading about 1000 RPM too high.

I really don't understand the operation of a tach. Any help on what to do is appreciated. I wonder about changing the gauge out.... but am asking here first. The motor sounds fine and all is OK. Same prop and everything.
