Ultrex Momentary Switch - No Continuous or Spot Lock Either

So ultrex has been working perfectly. This morning get to the first spot and Momentary Switch on the foot pedal not working. Unit powers on and motor turns just fine with foot pedal or remote, but....

Prop will not move and give me any power with the foot pedal or remote. Spot Lock engages and lights come on but motor doesn't try to hold me in place. Continuous button on bottom left corner doesn't work either. Messed with the momentary switch adjustment under the button. No changes.

Then out of the blue while messing with the remote, it starts working and no issues the rest of the 8 hour fishing day.

Any ideas??

Could be water intrusion or a bad armature. Both are easy to check. Remove prop and loosen water the screws that hold the motor assembly together and you will notice if there is water in the motor it will start dripping out. If no water then you may have a bad armature. To check that when that happens turn the prop just a small amount and try to activate again. If it runs then you have a bad spot on the armature.
