How to enable Structure Scan on HDS G3

Good afternoon,

I recently installed a SS module for a friend of mine, I've never used Lowrance HDS or their SS so I am in the dark on setting it up. Upon installation completion I could see a line down the center of the display and select from some options however my friend told me it didn't change from that line down the center when it was in the water. I have the yellow wire from the HDS 9 going to the yellow wire on the SS box, it powers up and I can see the green lights blinking on both transducer connections at the black box. Is there a setting I missed somewhere to activate the Side Scan or Downscan? For source I have selected "this unit" Thanks in advance, I have little to no experience operating Lowrance stuff.

Assuming you have the module connected by an Ethernet cable to the unit, select the Structure module. This Unit can only be selected if a sidescan is direct connected. You should see a second choice under the source menu if the module is powered on.

Thank you, I have a yellow ethernet cable going from port 1 on the HDS to port 1 on the SS Module. The unit is powered on, maybe I just have to toggle something on that menu and change it from this unit.

Just wanted to say thank you! That worked. Once I changed it the structure scan began working.

also make sure in advanced setting Structure Scan is turned on. G3 does not have auto select.
