    Glacial Lakes Smallmouth

I am familiar with most of them, but unfortunately live in Nebraska outside of Omaha. My favorite is Roy and that is really just because of some amazing outings and confidence. I am familiar with Clear, Waubay, Enemy Swim, Pickerel, etc. There are a couple outside of Webster that I have stuck some fat short 4-5lbers.

What sucks about South Dakota is finding info out on up and coming lakes. Would someone be willing to PM me on a few under the radar lakes?

My dad and I try to make a trip up once a year. He's slowing down a little, so not wasting precious time on the water is valuable. I'm not looking for waypoints or anything like that. Just a few different lakes that are fun to fish in June. I know that is still asking a lot.

I am from the Omaha area also. And have fished and do fish the Webster area a great deal. My choice for the best smallmouth fishing in the state is the river. Both Sharp and Oahe are great fishing spots.

I always have intentions of going to sharp but never make the trip. Where are you putting in at?

Way back in the pre GPS days we would put in at North Shore and run up towards North Bend. Fish whatever flats we could find. Looking at the bird App it looks like there’s plenty water. I always thought good fishing starts right away if you put in at West Bend. Last time I was there we got white bass busting on the surface in like 50 FOW. Fun place to fish.

i can’t help with the up and coming lakes. Had good action on all listed for many years. The loss of the one by Webster sucks though. But I’ve caught them above and below the lakes mentioned in the “Roy” chain. The tourney list probably gives some other places to try too.

I put in at Fort Thompson. Good ramp at the dam. And you can start fishing as soon as you back the boat off the trailer.
