    New Dakota Lithium Low Voltage

I purchased 4 new Dakota Lithium 12V 100ah batteries. I recently took them out of the box and put a multimeter on them. They’re all reading around 2V. Does Dakota ship these batteries discharged or with BMS asleep?? I have not tried charging them yet.

Most batteries these days ship asleep. There’s a video on my channel with some options to wake one up, if needed.

Obviously if you tested them at 2v then yes they shipped them asleep.

It has been a few years since I got a new lithium battery. They always came at 40 or 50% a few years ago. Can the newer ones be made to sleep without having them low? I would be afraid of them going too low sitting in a wharehouse waiting for sale. Bob

Yes, depending on brand you can turn them off by bluetooth. The last batch of Epochs I got were around 10%. Cj
