    Drilling into Fiberglass lids

I am helping a buddy install a second set of Boat Buckle rod straps in his Ranger. He would like to attach the receiver end to the rod box. Has anyone had any experience attaching things to the lid, and if so did you use screws, pop rivets, or small bolts with a nuts?

    Any insight would be appreciated.

I would try a short screw. The lids are thicker than you would think. Other choice would be a machine screw with a locknut.

this should work. can start with short screws and is they pull out over time, go longer with lock nuts

Whatever he chooses, make sure they are stainless so they don't rust out.
