    Elite FS Network

I’m hoping someone knows for certain the answer to my question please.

I have an Elite FS 12 on my bow connected to a 3-In-One transducer in my Ghost trolling motor and an Elite FS 9 in my console connected to a Total Scan transducer on my jack plate. Both units are connected together via an ethernet cable.

What I would like to do, if possible, is to be able to choose between the 3-In-One transducer or the Total Scan transducer on the Elite FS 9 in the console. I was told it is possible but I can’t get it to work. I’m seeing two transducers when I select Source from the Sonar screen but they are both the rear transducer. I would like for one to be the front and the other the rear so that I could select between the two.

Can anyone tell me exactly how to set this up if it really is possible?

    Thanks in advance.

When you say they are both the same transducer....you mean they have the same name? If your ghost is on the nema network its ducer should be listed.

Firist off make sure both transducers are on Channel 2 on ea unit they are plugged into. Put both units on a sonar page and select either this unit or the name of the transducer. ea one should show up on the unit it plugged into. Once that is verifyied than go to either unit and switch that unit source to the other transducer know both will be using the same one. If it is not then you don't have the Data sources under Pages/sytem/network/data sources set correctly verify ea transducer is connected to the correct Unit do not use the auto as one of the selections and make sure each transducer is set to Local for the one its plugged into vs global.

The Ghost is contolled by the NMEA 2000 network the Sonar transducer is oplugged into the Bow Unit and is controlled by Ethernet. NMEA has nothing to do with Sonar.

There is only one transducer input on the back of both Elite FS units. There is no Ch 2 input.

You are correct was thinking HDS instead of FS same concept so check the transducer type for ea transducer they will be different.

I was under the impression that a transducer must be on the nema network to be shared with other devices. I could be wrong though it's happened before.

NMEA shares numerical data. Ethernet shares image data. This sonar transducers which supply image data share over Ethernet. Temp data from a transducer (since it is numerical) can share over NMEA.

To the OP, go to Pages, Settings, Sonar, and turn on Network Sonar

Excellent explanation, thank you for sharing that.
