I’m going with Keith Combs. While I have no idea where he’s fishing, he had a good third day. Serious question though. If you are sitting in 7-10th place and you’ve been burning through 160 miles of gas each day, would you do so on day 4 when there is very little likelihood of increasing your financial return?

I think most of “us” that actually pay for our equipment and repairs would say NO. The Elites, however, are not in that frame of mind. They have minimal personal expense in boats or repairs. They will send it. Gas is a business expense for them.

Possibly...In a recent podcast where Dave Mercer was the host and he was talking to an Elite angler they discussed how BASS determines who gets the random polygraph this year. In the past all names were thrown in a draw and they drew out a name. This year they went to a system where position numbers are put in the draw before the event starts, then they draw out a position number. Anglers have no idea where they are going to finish making it totally random and eliminating the possibility of saying it was rigged to draw a certain name. Since position number 7 is what you mentioned possibly it was the number that was drawn before this event start. I have no idea what number was drawn so my question is why are you bring up #7. Is that the random number for this event?

Saw a tourney years ago on the Potomac where the bottom folks on the last day idled past the off limits zone, dropped their TM’s and basically never moved the whole day. No gas burned, no equipment broken, no stress for an extra $100.
